When a Barrier Digimon would be deleted in battle, you can trash the top card of your security stack to keep it alive. You're spending life to save the body, so it belongs on Digimon your whole line depends on. Count carefully: every Barrier trigger is a security card your opponent didn't have to earn with an attack.
16-25-1. <Barrier> is a keyword effect. When a Digimon with this effect would be deleted in battle, by trashing the top card of your security stack, this effect prevents that deletion. 16-25-2. <Barrier> is an immediate-type effect that triggers when the Digimon with this effect would be deleted in battle. (For details, refer to 15-8-5 "Immediate-Type Effects") 16-25-3. "By trashing the top card of your security stack" in <Barrier> is an optional processing condition. If the content of that condition is executed, the processing for "prevents the deletion" will be mandatory.
