Ascension lets you put the Digimon on top of your security stack when it's deleted. You recover a security card and you know exactly what's sitting on top, which matters a lot if the card has a nasty security effect. It makes trading the Digimon away far less painful, so you can play it aggressively without feeling the loss.
16-43-1. <Ascension> is a keyword effect. When the card with this effect is deleted, the player may place this card at the top of the security stack. 16-43-2. <Ascension> is a trigger-type effect that triggers when the Digimon with this effect is deleted. (For details, refer to 15-8-3 "Trigger-Type Effects") 16-43-3. The processing from <Ascension> is optional.
