Can I use this card when my opponent has no digivolution cards to still get the +2000 DP?
Yes, as trashing 1 of your opponent's digivolution cards is not a requirement, you get +2000 DP when using this card even when your opponent has no digivoltion cards. From Card Rulings:BT1-090
