The DNA digivolve is free and it pays you twice on the way through, once from Stingmon and once from the Tamer, and the Tamer throws in three digivolution cards off their board for having done it. That is the ramp. The payoff is Paladin Mode, which trashes every digivolution card they have left, and a Digimon with no digivolution cards is exactly what Paladin returns to the bottom of the deck every time it attacks, unsuspending itself as it goes.
